A friend of mine that I made at the Edwardian Ball (well, technically the ballroom dancing lessons bfr the ball) shot me an email the other day asking if I might be interested in working at the So Cal Ren Fest this year, and I responded that I would indeed like to get more info on it. I got home last night (from seeing THE WATCHMEN, which was freaking awesome) to find a message saying "apologies for the short notice, but if you are still interested in working at the Ren Fest then here's some info and stuff starts at 9am tomorrow morning, hope you can make it!"

Der? So I got up and went. Basically I have no more weekends until the end of May, but fuckitall cause I'mma have FUNZ! So I met my friend there and we walked over to the place where the guilds all got up and tried to entice you to join them. Myself and another girl that my friend Vannassa met when she first arrived watched them together and then they had all the new people come up and say their names and what group they might plan to join. I walked out, said my name, said, "I only moved from MI a few months ago and I have no bloody clue what I want to do here yet, but I sing and can do back bends!" At this point I bent backwards and almost touched my head to the ground and then walked back into the mass of new people. I was approached by 4 separate guilds, two of them being ones I thought looked interesting. The other new girl my friend knew and myself both ended up auditioning to join the improve group that tries to hawk disgusting food-stuffs and that does the really vulgar sketch show. Auditions were fun. They made us sing songs and change character while still singing, and then they had us infomercial random shit from the guild master's purse. Oddly enough I got got prolly the most compliments out of anyone from the other auditioners, and when I was talking to the people already in the guild they all were like "dude, you were freaking hilarious and your pitch was so original." So now I am a Monger. Oh god the horrible jokes, random randomness, and sporadic singings of Avenue Q songs that continued through the rest of the day. My guild-mates all appear to be horrible, awesome people with twisted senses of humor. I am apparently the only one in the whole thing who has no theater experience, but they don't seem to be holding that against me.

Now I'm gonna shower and then my friend Ver (go check out her great sculptures at [link] ) is picking me up and we are going to go hit up an art gallery opening this evening. Yay fun new friends! :)

PS: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE BAND I SING FOR [link] PLAY THIS COMING FRIDAY LET ME KNOW!!!! $12 tickets and it is at the Whiskey A GoGo in West Hollywood. It will be damned fun so you should come.
